Winnie Munuthi

Piano, Voice, and Music Theory
Brief info

My name is Winnie Munuthi. I am an open-minded music educator specializing in piano, voice & music theory for learners from age of 18 months and above. My inspiration is the role of music in the cognitive & social-emotional development of children and adults. I begun my career 15 years ago at Wynton House of Music where I serve to date and also received my music education 9 years prior.

In my career’s time I have had the opportunity to work with several individuals and groups over peripatetic sessions at home and in schools such as Peponi School and The Vale school Muthaiga. I have worked with the organization Baraka Opera Trust in their Kenya School Concerts program and most recently their Kenyan Opera “Nyanga: The Runaway Grandmother” set to hit the stage in 2021. I have also served with The Kenya Conservatoire of music in their annual International Women’s Day Concerts since 2017.

I volunteer my time to engage in community education through recordings of music shared via Koch FM, a community radio station based in Korogocho.

In addition to my primary and secondary education, I hold internationally accredited music certificates with ABRSM & LCM, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism & Psychology and a Master of Science in Organizational development from the USIU-Africa.
